A second visit to this church for another wedding. A really nice organ to play. The Bride came in to Promenade from Pictures at an Exhibition. This was a first for me, but it worked reasonably well.
A little know fact – most brides take about 40 seconds (plus or minus) to walk down the aisle. That means you only get about that much of your selected piece. And your organist has to figure out a way to bring the piece to a close that sounds to the congregation as if it was always meant to sound that way. Promenade was really quite tricky.
Out to the Karg Elert’s Nun Danket Alle Gott, one of my favourites and allows me to really let rip. Wonderful.
On my walk from the station to the church passed within a hundred yards or so of the famous Abbey Road studios. It was heaving with tourists.
